Nadia Khalili

Nadia Khalili joined the Talwar Research Team in 2016. She is an international graduate student from Iran and is currently a third year Ph.D. candidate in the department of Educational and Counselling Psychology with a Human Development concentration at McGill University. Nadia holds a BA in Mathematics and a MA in Educational Psychology (Curriculum Development concentration). She is one of two founders, curriculum designer, and managing director of the Atiyeh Critic of Reason institute. This institute trains teachers in Philosophy for Children (P4C) and improves thinking skills among children. Nadia has actively participated in P4C since 2010 and Theory of Mind since 2018 in Talwar lab. She is interested in exploring the mechanism of spiritual-intellectual development through complex interdisciplinary subjects. In her comps, she argued if ToM is an inherently Complex Dynamic System, or we understand it through this mathematical theory. For her dissertation, she discovers a self-spiritual pattern among youth with advanced ToM ability and the moderation role of spirituality in the association between advanced ToM ability and social, emotional development in emerging adolescents.
